Navy Divers come in all shapes, sizes, weights, shades, states of sobriety, misery and confusion. They are either smart or strong, very rarely both. He is sly as a fox, has the nerve of a dare devil, has the stories of an old Sailor, the sin...cerity of a politician and the subtly of Mt. St. Helens. He is extremely irresistible, totally irrational and completely indestructible.
Women love them, mothers tolerate them, fathers brag about them, other men want to be them, children look up to them, the government pays them and the police watch out for them. You can beat their bodies but not their minds. You can tame their hearts but not their souls.
He likes girls, women, chicks, dames, ladies and whores. He dislikes small paychecks, working weekends, leaving his family, missing meals, waking up before ten, anyone who isn’t a Diver, grooming standards and maintaining a uniform.
The populace might as well give up. He is your husband, boyfriend, long distance lover as well as your late night booty call. He is a steely-eyed, warm-smiling, hyperactive, over reacting, passive, tattooed, joke telling, physically fit, silver-tongued devil, good for nothing, barrel chested, bare-knuckle brawler, last of the ball room dancers, active nudist, all around good guy and will always be there for you no matter how long it’s been since you last talked or seen each other. Most importantly he is an American Patriot. HE IS AN OVERALL GOOD GUY!
